Last year’s contest was so successful that we are pleased to offer this opportunity again! The contest is open to all current students at University of Maryland (yes, you can be abroad). This year’s categories have been expanded to: landscape, architecture, culture, and action. (Please see below for more information on the categories.) As last year, the top three photos in each category will be displayed in 8″x10″ format during International Education Week, November 12-16.
The rules this year have changed a little, so please read the following carefully.
1. Contestants must be current University of Maryland students.
2. Contestants may only submit one entry per category.
i) Landscape: environment, scenery
ii) Architecture: distinctive buildings and structures
iii) Culture: portrayal of the culture and people of the country
iv) Action: a still shot of an action scene; the content of the scene can vary from a crowd of people at market day, animals running in the wild, a sports match, or construction workers at work
3. The Deadline for submissions is midnight Sunday, October 28, 2007.
4. Photographs will be judged by a panel to determine finalists for each category.
5. Finalists will be displayed in the Stamp Student Union during International Education Week (November 12-16) and auctioned off at a subsequent event.
7. Winners in each category will be chosen by popular vote collected both in person at the Student Union and online at http://travelingterps.wordpress.com.
8. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of International Education Week and prizes will be awarded to winners from each category.
Submission Procedures
1. Copy the application below and paste it into an email. Copmlete the application and submit it with the photo, via email to travelingterps@gmail.com .

2. Photo should be sized to approximately 1200 x 800 pixels and saved as a jpeg file. Each photo should be sent in a separate e-mail with the appropriate accompanying form. Photo files should be titled as follows: photographer.title.jpeg.
3. Entries will be accepted until midnight Sunday, October 28, 2007.
4. If you are unable to submit your photo electronically, please contact Ivan at travelingterps@gmail.com.
One photo per email PLEASE, and one completed form per photo.
